SmartLabel - A Transparency Initiative for Consumer Trust (Spring 2018) (1 PDU)

Presenters
Julie Savoie,  Director, Industry Affairs Department, at the Grocery Manufacturers Association
Melanie Condon, External Affairs for the Sustainable Business & Communications, Unilever

About the Session:

SmartLabel™ is a NEW tool that gives consumers a way to access more detailed product information about a wide range of food, beverage, household, pet care and personal care products. It is fast and easy to use, with a consistent digital format that shares accurate data directly from the manufacturer in real-time. Consumers can find this product information in many ways – smartphone, computer, telephone. It gives you the information you want – when they want it.

Attend the session to learn how to access SmartLabel by scanning a QR code and/or UPC on packages or searching through a website and/or search engine.  This new digital label can meet the modern consumer's need for greater information and transparency.   Participants will learn the critical role digital labels will play for market transparency and allowing the consumer to access more information than could ever fit on a package.  This webinar is a "must attend" session for consumers who want to make more informed purchasing decisions and for educators who are teaching others how to read and utilize product labels.

During this session, attendees will:
  • Learn about the SmartLabel initiative;
  • Understand how to use SmartLabel;
  • Identify the information found on SmartLabel; and
  • Explain the SmartLabel benefits to consumers and its impact on wise shopping decisions.
